Getting married? Ahh, what a feeling, all that butterfly in the tummy, the excitement to step into a new phase of  your life, and looking like a princess on your Big Day, isn’t it all that we soon to-be-brides want? 

Essentially, a happy person is always a beautiful person but a little polishing can never hurt and a good pre-bridal haircare at home or skincare is all you need to keep your hair and skin radiating before D-day and Home remedies can do the magic you want.

Here are a 10 easy Bridal haircare Routine  from the pages of Ayurveda that our grandmothers swear by and have been widely acknowledge around the world for their benefits.  

Start off Early

FYI- Pre Bridal haircare with  are not quick fixes, so, don’t expect salon like glow in an a hour, these remedies are natural and nourish you hair in the most authentic way and start showing results with due course of time, so, start early, be consistent, and trust the process. Start taking care of your hair at least 6 months earlier and make time to make it a part of your daily routine

Oil Therapy

Oiling your hair is like watering a plant, have you even seen a plant grow into a tree with no water, No Right? our hair needs nutrients and oiling provides it with the nourishment to grow and glow. Coconut oil, Almond oil, Neem oil, onion seed oil, fenugreek oil are some of the oils easily available and are proven good food for long shiny hair. Massage your scalp twice a week with any of these oils, leave it on for an hour at least and rinse it off with a mild shampoo.

If you have dandruff prone scalp consult a doctor before you start oil therapy.

Cleansing 

A clean scalp is the foundation to healthy hair, and cleansing your scalp thoroughly and on regular interval help you with hair growth, reduce hair fall, manage dandruff and lot more. A good hair cleanser that is plant based, paraben, silicon, harsh chemical free is must for any home hair care routine and we can make our own at home using simple natural ingredients. 

Here is simple DYI hair shampoo you can make at home

Take 6-10 pieces of Indian soapberries commonly known as Ritha, soak them into lukewarm water for 6-8 hours, then boil the berries in the same water till you see a foamy or frothy surface, now let it cool, rub the Ritha  using hands and create more foam, now strain the water and store it in cool. You can directly apply this water in you scalp messaging it gently for 10-15min and rise it off using a mild shampoo followed by a conditioner or simply use this mixture as your shampoo.  

If you already have dry scalp, feel free to mix a table spoon of fresh aloe vera gel in this mixture to avoid your scalp getting too dry. 

Aloe Vera Mask

Aloe vera is nature’s gift to mankind! there is very few skin or hair ailment that this magic plant cant cure and adding it to your  hair care before wedding routine is going to bring your A+ Hair game on. Adding aloe vera in your diet too is a great idea. Have a glass of aloe and amla juice in your early morning ritual can keep you glowing from inside out. 

A few quick Aloe Mask for hair:

  1. Take two table spoons of freshly squeezed aloe vera pulp, add one spoon of organic coconut oil and a pinch of coffee powder mix it well, now massage this in your scalp, leave it for 30-40mins and rinse it off with mild shampoo followed by a good conditioner. Follow this once every week. 
  2. Soak fenugreek seeds overnight and blend it in a mixer making it a thick and smooth paste, now mix two spoon of aloe pulp, one egg (avoid if you are vegan or vegetarian), add two spoons of Heena powder. Apply this mask all over your hair and cover your hair with a wet warm towel for 30mins, now rinse it off with a mild shampoo. 

Alowvera-Mask

Rice Water

The washed water from rice is a wonderful alternative to wash your hair with. You can apply it while using shampoo. However, use a mug full of clean water top wash of the residue from your hair.

Onion Juice

Onion juice has a lot of anti-bacterial properties. Applying it as a part of your pre-bridal hair care at home would keep your hair away from fungus and other foreign bodies. But you need to dilute the concentrated onion juice with adequate water, so you don’t irritate your scalp.

Trim Your Hair

At least once in three months, your hair needs a trimming session. This will eliminate the split ends if your hair has any and also stimulate faster growth.

Never Say “Na” to Banana:

Eat it or apply it on your hair, this magic fruit is a great nourishment for your hair and skin. Banana masks are tricky to rinse off but with these few tips you can get smooth and silky and shining hair in 30mins. 

Easy banana mask for hair:

Boil one ripe banana for 10 mins in water with the peel, now leave it in the warm water for a few mins to cool off. now add this banana (with the peel) in a blender container, add a 10ml milk in it and a spoon full of honey, now blend it till its smooth, now strain the mixer in a different bowl to eliminate any lump or particle, now apply it in your hair, keep it for 30-mins and wash it thoroughly and air dry your hair. 

Kalonji or Nigella seeds:

Kalonji is not just a great taste enhancer, it also is a great source of nutrients for our hair. Adding kalonji in your diet, haircare is a great option. 

A few ways you can add Nigella seeds into your home hair care routine: 

  • Add clarified butter or ghee in a pan, now heat it without bring it to a boil, add 50 grams of Nigella seeds into the ghee and leave it for 6-8hrs and pour the mixer into a glass container and apply this in your hair an hour before you wash your hair. 
  • Take a boiling pot and add two glasses of water, now add a handful of fresh neem leaves, curry leaves, chopped onion, 590 grams of kalonji and boil them all together till the water reduces to one glass, now cool it off and store in a glass container. Apply this water in your scalp for 15 mins and rinse off with mild soap. 

“Honey” it’s amazing!

Honey, another magic ingredient for young, healthy skin and hair. Simply by adding a spoon of honey in your hot beverages replacing sugar can keep your glowing forever. Pick any DYI hair mask and add honey to it, yes, it is as simple as that to get soft and silky hair. 

Balance-Diet

A balanced Diet & Supplements 

Well, saying that all, if your system within is not repaired no amount of work you do outside is going to give you the glow outside. So, be very mindful of what you eat. Consume a balanced diet adding a lot of veggies, protein, antioxidants in your plate. Drink a lot of water, avoid junk and oily food, and add supplements like vitamin-D, B-complex, Biotin in your diet. Do consult a doctor before taking supplements.
