➔   a curtain of fairy lights

➔   a canopy of flowers, branches and bells with flowing ribbons.

➔   The tunnel can also be bordered with lamps or small fountains.

The perfect ‘Mandap’

This is the crucial part where the entire wedding ceremony will take place. The most important thing to keep in mind while decorating and putting up the mandap is ‘space’.

Keep an ample amount of space for ‘mala bodol’ (exchange of garlands), ‘saat paak’ (7 rounds of vows) and of course for the photographers. Always keep space for the photographer and priest to adjust so that you do not regret later on for missing or photobombed snaps!

3 points to note for instructing the right perfect ‘Mandap’

➔   The roof of the mandap must have a white surface for the flashlight to bounce properly.

➔   The backdrop of the bride and groom must have a curtain of fairy lights (preferably yellow lights) for a bokeh effect in photos which brings out candid couple photos of the entire ceremony.

Staging a Grand Reception

Wedding reception decorations require a maximum emphasis on the sitting arrangement of the newlywed couple and the backdrop. It is preferred to go for an elevated stage with stairs. The sofa for the bride and groom can be of a vintage style to provide a royal touch to the couple shoots. The stage must have enough space for a big group of relatives to stand and click group photographs.

The backdrop must not have multi-coloured lights flashing as it disturbs the photographs. Preferably a single colour light would do or a curtain of fairy lights. The cloths used at the backdrop must not be too bright or fluorescent. The matte cloth is suitable with proper lights. Colours like bright green or orange can be avoided.

The all-purpose fairy lights!

Keep adding fairy lights all around the open or black spaces. Fairy lights never fail. Just make sure that it is one colour or two contrasting colours.

Photo Booth

The concept of a photo booth is on the top trending decor for any wedding, reception, haldi, mehendi or sangeet!

Choose from the numerous designs provided by the wedding decorator. Put in huge photo frames or a decorated retro cycle or a decorated rickshaw etc. Pinterest up your ideas.

Hosting your Guests

There must be enough provision of seats for the guests. Make sure that a comfortable sitting arrangement is made for the elderly. There must be chairs arranged at a proper distance surrounding the ‘mandap’ so that the guests can get a clear view of the ceremony. Always try to cover the chairs as it looks tidy.

Food court!

The tastiest part of the wedding! The food arrangement is the fundamental point of a full-fledged wedding! The dining area where the guests will be fed must be highly hygienic. There must be caterer attendees roaming around to offer help to the guests and do regular cleaning of the space.

The food stalls must have a Non-veg side and a veg side well segregated.

It is advisable not to place the snacks and drinks stall at the entrance of the wedding area. It disturbs the balance of the event decor. Hence, all the food arrangement must be in one space with proper segregation.

A buffet system is preferable as there are more socializing and open choices with less wastage of food. The food court must have ample amount of tables and chairs for the guests.
